Vijay Nagar Promised 10 MLD of Ganga Water in Ghaziabad-min

In Ghaziabad, Vijay Nagar promised 10 MLD of Ganga water under a new government project to boost supply for ten residential areas. The project will finish by March 2026 and add 10 million liters daily to the city’s network. This will ensure better access to clean water for thousands of families.

The UP Jal Nigam currently runs three treatment plants in Pratap Vihar. Together, they produce 480 MLD of water. Out of this, 330 MLD goes to Noida, 108 MLD to Ghaziabad, and 42 MLD to UP Avas Vikas. Officials said Ghaziabad is already using its full 108 MLD share. The extra 10 MLD will come from saved wastewater at two plants, not the city’s quota.

General manager KP Anand explained that 5 MLD from each plant will be reused. This ensures Ghaziabad’s allocation stays the same while residents get more water. Pipelines will connect the supply to six storage tanks across key wards.

The ten wards include Old and New Vijay Nagar, Charan Singh Colony, Kailash Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Madhopura, Sundarpuri, Mirzapur, and parts of Pratap Vihar and Mavi. The upgraded pipelines will help maintain steady flow to these areas.

Ghaziabad mayor Sunita Dayal said work has already begun. She expressed confidence that supplies will start by March 2026. According to her, the project will ease the daily struggle for clean water in many homes.

This is not the first Ganga water plan in the region. The Khoda project under Amrut 2.0 was approved in December 2023 but stalled after Noida refused to share its water. Despite setbacks, officials remain hopeful about this new initiative.

The addition of 10 MLD will strengthen Ghaziabad’s water network. Vijay Nagar promised 10 MLD of Ganga water shows a clear step toward cleaner, safer, and more reliable access for residents.
