The case of the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Umar has shocked investigators, especially because they believe he is the man behind the Red Fort blast in Delhi. He went missing for ten days right after the arrest of his close friend, Dr. Muzammil Ganaie. Soon after that, he reappeared on November 10, driving a white i20 that exploded near the Red Fort. This event triggered one of Delhi’s biggest terror probes in recent years.
Moreover, Dr. Muzammil’s arrest on October 30 in Faridabad created panic in Dr. Umar’s mind. He quickly left his job at Al-Falah University and vanished. Investigators now want to understand what he did during those ten missing days. An officer said they must learn who helped him and how he prepared for the attack.
Additionally, police discovered notebooks and diaries inside the rooms rented by both doctors. These books included coded entries, repeated use of the word “operation”, and dates between November 8 and 12. Officers believe these notes show plans for several attacks, possibly not only in Delhi but also in other regions.
Furthermore, both doctors joined Al-Falah University during the COVID-19 period. Dr. Umar joined in 2021, and Dr. Muzammil followed six months later. They rented two rooms in Faridabad. From there, they gathered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, which shows how long they had prepared for their plans.
The notebooks also listed 25 to 30 names. Most of them are from Jammu & Kashmir and Faridabad. Investigators think these people may be part of a wider network that supports dangerous activities. Officers are checking whether the Red Fort blast was only one part of a bigger series of planned explosions.
On November 8, police located a red Ford EcoSport linked to Dr. Umar in Khandawali village. This was one of three vehicles the group allegedly used. They are still searching for a Brezza. A police spokesperson said they must confirm whether that car was part of the same plot.
Meanwhile, evidence shows the operation was well-organized. For nearly a month, the two doctors transported explosives from Jammu & Kashmir to Faridabad. They moved these materials despite heavy security checks on highways. This movement raises serious questions about who supported them.
Because of the rising threat, police agencies from three regions: Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and the National Investigation Agency, are working together to identify every person involved. Critics now question how such a major blast happened just ten days after the arrest of an important suspect. Some officers believe early action could have prevented the tragedy.
In response, Faridabad Police added around 180 new checkpoints across the district. They are checking vehicles, questioning locals, and gathering digital clues to find anyone connected to the group. Many fear that those ten missing days hold the key to all unanswered questions.
