Tesla Expands into Gurugram with New Lease at Sohna Road

Tesla Expands into Gurugram with a major step, signing a nine-year lease for 33,475 square feet at Orchid Business Park on Sohna Road. This facility will function as Tesla’s first service centre, delivery hub, and retail store in the Delhi-NCR region. The move comes shortly after Tesla opened its first Indian showroom in Mumbai. And it shows the company’s clear intent to strengthen its presence in the country.

The lease, registered on July 28, was signed between Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt Ltd and three real estate firms, Garwal Properties Pvt Ltd, Orchid Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd, and Suncity Real Estate LLP. It officially began on July 15. Tesla will pay ₹40.17 lakh in monthly rent along with a ₹2.41 crore security deposit. In addition, the deal has a three-year lock-in period, and the rent will rise by 4.75% each year.

While the leased area totals 50,914 square feet, Tesla will use 33,475 square feet on the ground floor. The company will design custom interiors to meet its operational needs. Therefore, the space will include a showroom for customers, a delivery section for buyers, and a service centre for car repairs. This model aligns with how Tesla operates worldwide.

According to Abhishek Kiran Gupta, CEO of CRE Matrix and Indextap.com, Tesla is entering the NCR market at nearly 6% above the usual rental rates. Moreover, Gurugram already serves as a hub for luxury automobile services and has a skilled workforce familiar with high-end vehicles.

The building where Tesla will set up has full commercial approval and an occupation certificate issued in 2009. Consequently, with utilities already in place, Tesla can begin operations smoothly without major delays.

The company’s entry is also expected to boost development along the Sohna Road corridor. This area already houses showrooms and service centres for major luxury brands. As a result, Tesla’s arrival will likely attract more businesses and strengthen commercial activity. And further position Gurugram as a hotspot for global technology and mobility firms.

Beyond Gurugram, this move may influence automobile markets in nearby cities such as Mohali and Chandigarh, where demand for luxury and electric vehicles is steadily rising. Furthermore, as Tesla leads the way, other companies may follow, giving India’s EV ecosystem fresh momentum.

In conclusion, Tesla Expands into Gurugram not only to strengthen its Indian footprint. But also, to set the pace for nationwide electric vehicle growth. By investing in service, retail, and delivery infrastructure. Tesla is laying the groundwork for a future where eco-friendly mobility becomes mainstream in India.
