The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has stepped in to address concerns over the quality of apartments in Dwarka. On Wednesday, RERA officials inspected Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Golf View Apartments after residents filed complaints.
The complex has 11 high-rise buildings with 1,130 luxury flats, including 14 penthouses, 170 Super High-Income Group (HIG) flats, and 946 other HIG flats. Moreover, eleven residents reported serious issues with construction quality and poor maintenance of shared facilities.
RERA Chairman Anand Kumar expressed deep concern about the complaints. Therefore, he directed engineers to examine the condition of the flats, common areas, and parking facilities. In addition, he cited a report submitted on May 14, 2025, by a Superintendent Engineer that highlighted several unresolved problems. Consequently, Kumar asked the DDA Vice Chairman to review the construction against the original specifications and submit a report within six weeks.
On the other hand, the DDA argued that some problems, such as blocked sewers, resulted from residents dumping construction debris while modifying their flats. Furthermore, officials said they would issue notices and fines to those responsible and recover cleaning costs from residents or contractors.
At the same time, the DDA added that it is working to address other concerns quickly. It assured residents of better living conditions; however, it reminded them that modifications must follow rules and should not disturb others.
This is not the first time RERA has acted. In fact, in April, the authority told the DDA to form a panel to review complaints and report within a month. As a result, the move shows RERA’s growing focus on monitoring standards and ensuring accountability in housing projects.
Beyond Dwarka, concerns about construction quality extend to Punjab and other parts of North India. Thus, RERA’s proactive stance signals a broader push to improve housing standards and protect homebuyers.
For Golf View residents, the inspections and follow-up steps could finally bring long-awaited improvements. Overall, RERA’s actions reflect stricter oversight that may raise living conditions in housing projects across the region.
