Rajghat Delhi is one of those places that will remind you of belonging to a great nation. But yes, if you don’t know about certain things, you might be disappointed.
See, this place is not for everyone. If you are one of those people who like to visit peaceful places, you will love the place. But if you are not one of those people, you might feel bored there.
Yes, I know that not everybody is interested in visiting historical places and seeing the memorial of the freedom fighters, but sometimes, you should give it a try.
I was also one of you guys. I hate visiting such places. But one weekend, I was in Delhi for work, and I got a Sunday off. So, I decided to spend my Sunday and go to Rajghat.
I was impressed to see the clean environment in Delhi. It was a memorial for Gandhi ji. The last words of Gandhi ji that is “Hey Ram,” were inscribed. Though there was a controversy regarding this, we still believe it.
They have kept even the smallest things in mind. My experience was pleasant, and I might go there for the second time.
But this might not be the case with you. To make the most out of your trip, you need to keep a few things in mind. So, let’s see what those are.
You Will Not Have Fun Here
It is not a place to have fun. You are not supposed to have fun. Well, I’m not expecting you to go and cry, but this place is not an amusement park.
If you are interested in history, like visiting places that remind you of major historical events, you can go. Otherwise, just drop the plan.
The place is calm, and most people avoid such places because of the seriousness around it, but I found it peaceful.
If you are having a rough day and thinking of visiting a place where you can just spend an hour peacefully, this is for you.
How to Reach There?
Okay, there are two ways to go via the Delhi metro. You need to reach the Indraprastha station on the blue line or Chandni Chowk on the yellow line.
From there, you can easily reach Rajghat. No entry fees are there. It is a government property, so you are free to visit.
Just make sure that you do not disturb other people who will be there.
Final Words
One thing that I liked about these places was nothing but the peace. I love quiet places where nobody is there to disturb you, and you can enjoy your own company.
Moreover, I recently went to Humayun’s tomb, and there also I felt the same serene vibes. Though the reason behind going there was different, it turned out to be absolute bliss.
Delhi is full of wonders, be it Sarojini or Chandi Chowk, each place here is just full of wonders. I never realized that some narrow market lanes could have such a beautiful history.
Hmmm, Rajdhani for a reason!
