Purana Qila is one of the most mesmerizing places of all time. The best thing about this qila is not the architecture but the current situation. Haha! I know, you must be thinking that I have become mad.
Why on earth would someone call an old, destructive site beautiful? Well, when we say history, it means that we are putting life into the old minars and the oldest forts.
Some are ghostly, like the Bhangarh, and some are still beautiful, like the Taj Mahal. You know the best thing that one can do is bring their camera and capture the old soul.
Yes, I do believe that historical sites have a soul. I am the kind of person who believes in the concept of a place having a memory, and it repeats itself.
This is the reason we feel different while visiting such places. I went to visit the Tomb of Humayun, and I started to think about the construction, how it was and all. I wasn’t there when it was being constructed, but it felt like I had witnessed it all.
Something similar happened to me when I went to visit the Adalaj stepwell. I don’t know why I felt sympathy for the queen. Looking at the dark water of the well, I was sure that thousands of mysteries were yet to be unfolded.
That being said, let’s discover the unfolded truth of Purana Qila.
The History of Purana Qila
Again it was built by Shah Jahan. I mean, this man was amazing. Just name any beautiful architecture, and you will hear his name. Though the other architectures are still well maintained, Purana Qila looks like Purana.
But this old look gives it a mythical look. This place is ideal for photoshoots. This is what you need to do to reach the place.
How to Reach?
To reach Purana Qila, just take the metro to Pragati Maidan metro station. It is not that far away from there. The ticket prices are just 20.
So, bring your camera, bring your friend, wear your favorite and most aesthetic outfit, and be ready to pose. If you are planning to build your portfolio in photography, I think nothing can beat the beauty of Purana Qila.
So, what are you waiting for? Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you about the times. It stays open for visitors from 7 am in the morning to 5 pm in the evening.
Wrapping Up
It does not matter where you are going in Delhi. Even the most crowded places like Chandni Chowk will remind you of the greater time and the greater people.
The places that we go to every day have an extraordinary history, just like the Coffee house of Kolkata. Famous singers and poets spend their time sipping coffee and making art.
So, cherish such places in your city and feel grateful for what these people have left for us. Wait, don’t forget to post the pictures on Instagram!
