Early on Wednesday, a murder suspect arrested after gunfight in Dwarka shocking local residents. The suspect, Rishabh, also known as Ritik, had been hiding for two months after being accused of killing Kuldeep Singh. Acting on a late-night tip, the Dwarka police planned a quick and strategic operation to capture him in Sector-3.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers spotted Rishabh near a residential lane. As they tried to arrest him, he suddenly pulled out a gun and fired two shots. One bullet injured Inspector Subhash Chand’s left arm. The police fired back, and Rishabh was hit in the right leg. Police officers quickly took both men to nearby private hospitals for treatment. Doctors treated their injuries and soon discharged them after confirming that both men were stable.
The police revealed that Rishabh had been in touch with local criminals while in hiding. He was planning to threaten or harm witnesses linked to the earlier murder case. Such plans created fear and concern for public safety in the area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said that the police acted quickly because Rishabh posed a serious risk to others. Two inspectors from the Anti-Narcotics Cell and Anti-Auto Theft Squad joined the operation for extra support.
The murder of Kuldeep Singh took place on August 17 outside his home in Rajapuri, Uttam Nagar. The argument between Rishabh and Kuldeep turned deadly after a heated fight. Investigators later arrested another man, Pawan Punjabi, and detained a minor boy connected to the case.
Across India, rising violent crime continues to worry citizens. Punjab, including cities like Mohali and Chandigarh, recorded one of the highest murder rates in 2021. However, efforts by Chandigarh police have reduced local crime by nearly 20% since 2020. This shows that better planning, teamwork, and quick action can make a big difference.
The Dwarka police are now focusing on catching anyone still involved with Rishabh. The community hopes this arrest brings peace and safety back to the neighborhood. As the murder suspect arrested after gunfight case continues, authorities remain committed to preventing future violence and protecting innocent lives.
