A shocking incident unfolded in Dwarka, New Delhi, where a 22-year-old man from Mumbai stole Rs 4.5 lakh from his employer after being denied an advance on his salary. The robbery took place at a godown in Najafgarh during the night of August 19 and 20.
The accused, identified as Mumtaz Jahangir, worked as a loader at the godown. When his employer, Mukul Jain, refused to provide him money before payday, Jahangir decided to commit the theft. According to police reports, CCTV footage revealed Jahangir entering the premises with his face covered by a plastic sack in an attempt to conceal his identity.
On August 20, the godown owner, Kumar Jain, discovered the cash missing from his office and immediately lodged a complaint with the Najafgarh police station. Acting swiftly, the police reviewed the CCTV footage and identified Jahangir as the suspect. Investigations revealed that he had direct access to the premises due to his employment.
After collecting enough evidence, police arrested Jahangir on Tuesday. The case highlights serious concerns about workplace trust and security, as an employee entrusted with responsibilities chose to betray that trust.
