The case of Kanpur medical student Mohammad Arif detained has gained major public attention. Officials claim that Arif may have links to Dr. Shaheen Saeed, who is connected to the group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Arif studies cardiology in Kanpur, and investigators questioned him soon after they found reports linking him to the recent Delhi blast. Meanwhile, the November 10 attack near the Red Fort has already created fear, and the search for answers keeps expanding.
Arif is a first-year student at the LPS Institute of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery. He comes from Anantnag in Kashmir. Although his seniors say he behaved normally, officers continue to check his background, especially as the investigation grows. In addition, Dr. Gyanendra Kumar explained that Arif joined the institute only a few months ago and lived in a rented room, which raises more questions.
Arif’s landlord, Kanhaiya Lal, said the student stayed at his home for less than a month. However, four unknown men later tried to open Arif’s room to take his belongings. Lal also said Arif shared the space with another student named Abhishek. Both appeared quiet and ordinary.
Meanwhile, the Delhi blast investigation has become deeper and more serious. For example, officers found a body part near the Red Fort and increased forensic testing. They also discovered diaries belonging to Dr. Umar and Dr. Muzammil. These notes listed almost 25 names, many from Jammu and Kashmir. Investigators also found coded messages, which clearly showed that a planned terror activity took shape between November 8 and 12.
Furthermore, sources say the suspects collected nearly Rs 20 lakh to buy materials. This includes 20 quintals of NPK fertilizer, which can help create IEDs. They also used secure apps like Signal to hide their talks. With these details, the network appears more organized and more dangerous.
Additionally, DNA tests confirmed that Dr. Umar Un Nabi carried out the car blast. This confirmation pushed officers to act faster, since they now believe the group planned multiple attacks.
