On September 13, Indian Railways introduce new Rajdhani Express that will link Sairang in Mizoram with Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. Rajdhani Express trains have a long legacy. The first began in 1969, connecting New Delhi with Howrah in Kolkata. Over the decades, they became symbols of speed, comfort, and prestige. The last Rajdhani launched in 2019 from Mumbai CSMT to Delhi. Now, with Mizoram on the map, Indian Railways takes a big leap in connectivity.

This will be the 26th Rajdhani Express. It will run on the newly built Bairabi-Sairang railway line, which spans 51.38 km and cost ₹8,000 crore. So, the engineering marvel includes 48 tunnels, 55 large bridges, and 87 smaller ones. One bridge stands at 104 meters, ranking among India’s tallest rail structures. Trains will reach speeds of 100 km/h, ensuring faster travel.

The inaugural run begins September 13 at 10 AM from Sairang and will reach Anand Vihar at 7:30 AM the next day. Moreover, regular service starts September 19. Train number 20597 will depart Sairang at 4:30 PM and arrive in Delhi at 10:50 AM on September 21. So its return, train number 20598, will leave Delhi at 7:50 PM and reach Sairang at 3:15 PM on September 23.

Along its journey, the train will stop at 21 stations. Key halts include Guwahati, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Bhagalpur, Patna, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, and Kanpur. So, this route will provide major relief to passengers traveling between Mizoram and northern India.

Rajdhani Express trains remain important for Indian Railways as they connect state capitals with Delhi. By adding this route, passengers from Mizoram will enjoy better travel opportunities, faster service, and safer journeys. So, it strengthens the integration of the northeast with the rest of the country.

However, the launch of this service is not just about speed and convenience but also about building bridges between cultures. For Indian Railways, it is another step toward modernizing infrastructure and expanding reach. Moreover, with Indian Railways introduce new Rajdhani Express by Indian Railways, passengers can now look forward to a smoother, faster, and more connected travel experience.
