Gurgaon Junctions face serious traffic every day as jams, dust, and poor road conditions create chaos. One of the worst areas is the busy Dadi Sati Chowk, which connects the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, Dwarka Expressway, Manesar, and Pataudi Road. Instead of smooth travel, commuters struggle with long delays and damaged roads.
The road surface at Dadi Sati Chowk remains uneven and broken, with a damaged manhole near Sector 85. Since slip roads do not exist, vehicles pile up for long stretches. Sector 84 junction adds to the misery, where broken roads and rough patches keep traffic crawling.
Residents directly blame the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) for poor repair work. Vikrant Srivastava, a local resident, explained that GMDA resurfaced the road before monsoon but ignored a 30-metre stretch. That neglected patch now triggers jams and creates thick dust clouds every single day.
Commuters describe the situation as unbearable. Nitin Salian from New Town Heights 90 said that crossing the chowk and junction takes 20-30 minutes for just a few hundred metres. He added that dust levels rise so high that even with car windows closed, people feel suffocated.
Locals in nearby sectors also suffer. Vivek Prakash from Sector 86 explained that jams often stretch back to the Dwarka Expressway. His home lies only 3 km away, yet the trip takes 30-45 minutes on most days. He pointed out that poor roundabout design and the absence of slip roads slow traffic. When the light turns green, only 10 cars pass through though the road could easily allow 50.
The slip road near the Pataudi Road junction adds further chaos. Water fills potholes regularly, and locals attempt to fix them with soil and debris. Their efforts, however, create more dust in the air, worsening health risks.
Many residents now fear for their health. Praveen Malik, President of the RWA of Rising Homes, warned that constant dust and endless jams already harm people. With winter approaching, he believes stricter GRAP measures will come if civic authorities delay action further.
GRAP, or Graded Response Action Plan, restricts vehicle use and construction work when pollution spikes. This makes road repairs even more urgent, especially as NCR air worsens during winter.
GMDA officials admitted the delays but argued that litigation blocked slip road construction. They also promised a long-term solution, stating that a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk is under planning and tenders will be floated soon. Meanwhile, they committed to immediate patch repairs and road resurfacing now that weather conditions allow bituminous work.
These issues impact not only travel but also public health. Constant jams, heavy truck movement from Manesar, and rising dust pollution make life harder for thousands of commuters and families. Experts warn that without swift intervention, road conditions will deteriorate further.
Residents now expect urgent and effective action. They demand proper resurfacing, slip roads, and better traffic management to ensure smoother travel and cleaner air. Without quick solutions, Gurgaon Junctions face serious traffic that could spiral out of control in the coming months.
