Stalker Arrested for Shooting Minor Girl in Faridabad

In a horrifying act of violence, a stalker arrested for shooting minor girl in Faridabad has shocked residents and reignited discussions about women’s safety. The accused, Jitendra, also known as Jatin Mangla, aged 30, worked as an accountant at a private group of institutions in Jakhopur. Police arrested him on Wednesday in his home village, Saramathla, following an intense manhunt.

The victim, a Class 12 student, was returning home from the library when the attack occurred. The incident took place around 5:20 PM on Monday in Ballabgarh’s Shyam Colony, when the girl was walking with two friends toward Bhagat Singh Colony. Without warning, Jitendra approached her with a homemade pistol. His first shot misfired, giving the terrified girl a brief chance to run. However, he fired again, this time hitting her left shoulder and arm, causing serious injuries to her face and upper body.

Doctors at a Faridabad hospital immediately performed surgeries to stabilize her condition. Fortunately, she is now recovering and out of danger.

According to police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav, the accused had been stalking and harassing the girl for months. “He repeatedly pressured her for friendship, even after multiple refusals,” Yadav said. The girl had blocked Jitendra’s phone number, but he continued to follow her.

Just days before the shooting, he approached her again outside the library. Disturbed by his behavior, the victim told her parents, who then contacted Jitendra’s mother to warn her. His mother promised to control her son and urged them not to inform the police. Unfortunately, Jitendra ignored her assurances and attacked the girl soon after.

Following the incident, the Faridabad Police registered a case and launched a rapid investigation. They tracked the suspect to his village and arrested him within 48 hours. Jitendra will be presented in court and kept in police custody for interrogation. Authorities are investigating how he obtained the pistol and what drove him to commit such a crime.

The Haryana State Women’s Commission has also taken notice of the case and demanded a detailed report from the Faridabad Police. They are monitoring the investigation closely and ensuring that the victim’s safety is prioritized.

This disturbing event sheds light on the rising problem of stalking and harassment faced by young girls across India. Over the past few years, such cases have increased significantly in urban areas like Faridabad and Gurugram. Experts believe that early reporting and community awareness are key to preventing these crimes from escalating into violence.

Parents are encouraged to maintain open communication with their children and take complaints seriously. Community vigilance can also make a major difference by identifying and reporting dangerous behavior early.

Legal experts emphasize the need for stronger enforcement of anti-stalking laws and better mental health support for victims. Schools and colleges can play an important role by conducting awareness sessions on cyberstalking, personal safety, and emotional well-being.

In the aftermath of this crime, citizens are demanding stricter punishments for stalkers and greater accountability for law enforcement agencies. The case highlights how crucial it is to build safe spaces for women and young girls in both physical and digital environments.

As the investigation continues, the victim’s bravery and resilience inspire hope. Her recovery serves as a reminder that communities must unite to stand against harassment, violence, and intimidation.

In conclusion, the stalker arrested for shooting minor girl stands as a stark warning about the dangers of unchecked stalking. It calls for urgent action from families, schools, and authorities to protect young women and promote a culture of safety, respect, and justice across India.
