Delhi to get its first ice-skating rink as the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) prepares to open a state-of-the-art winter sports facility in Dwarka, Sector 23. This project will give residents of the national capital and the surrounding NCR a chance to experience ice skating, ice hockey, figure skating, and curling in one modern venue.
The rink will cover 4,200 square meters, featuring a 60×30 meter ice surface built to international standards. Officials confirmed that the facility will be located within the cloverleaf area of the Dwarka Sports Complex, ensuring easy access for enthusiasts.
Strategically, the location benefits from proximity to the Urban Extension Road, Dwarka Expressway, and IGI Airport tunnel. This connectivity will allow visitors from across NCR, including nearby cities like Chandigarh and Mohali, to participate. The initiative was pushed by Lt Governor VK Saxena, who emphasized the growing demand for niche sports in India.
