Delhi Police have launched a serious investigation into a disturbing case involving 3 men charged for assaulting a woman employed at the Delhi High Court. The 31-year-old survivor bravely stepped forward after receiving fresh threats about releasing her private videos, which pushed her to file a formal complaint.
According to officials, the main accused, a man in his 30s who worked at a coaching center in North Delhi, first met the survivor in 2017 when she joined classes to prepare for competitive exams. Their friendship turned into betrayal when he invited her to his apartment, allegedly spiked her drink, and, with the help of two others, assaulted her.
The assaults, she reported, began in 2018 and took place in both Delhi and Ghaziabad. The accused allegedly recorded the incidents and used the videos to blackmail and extort her repeatedly. The survivor revealed that she later suffered another assault in Ghaziabad, which deepened her fear and sense of helplessness.
Police officials confirmed they have taken her statement and are now recording it in front of a magistrate, a critical step toward ensuring justice. Investigators are also collecting evidence and questioning the accused to build a strong case.
The case underlines the importance of reporting such crimes, as silence often allows perpetrators to continue exploiting victims. Authorities stress that support systems, including counseling and legal assistance, are available to those facing similar situations.
The Delhi Police emphasized they are handling the matter with urgency, aiming to hold the perpetrators accountable. The case of 3 men charged for assaulting highlights not only the importance of legal action but also the collective responsibility of society to stand with survivors and demand justice.
