Parking Dispute Leads to Tragic Murder of Huma Qureshi's Cousin

The Murder of Huma Qureshi’s Cousin, Asif Qureshi, in August 2025 has left Delhi in shock. The incident took place in Jangpura, near Nizamuddin, after a dispute over a parking space spiraled into violence. What began as a simple request soon turned into a fatal confrontation, exposing the fragile tempers in crowded urban neighborhoods.

On Thursday night around 9:30 PM, Asif noticed a scooter parked in front of his home. Parking is a constant struggle in the area, and he asked the owner to move it. According to his wife, Shaheen, the man hurled abuses and warned he would return. Within minutes, the man came back with his brother, and an argument quickly escalated.

CCTV footage revealed the attackers approaching Asif, and a physical fight broke out. A woman tried to intervene but was shoved aside. Suddenly, one of the men stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon, leaving him gravely injured.

Asif collapsed after the stabbing. Shaheen called her brother-in-law, Javed, but by the time he arrived, Asif had lost too much blood. The family rushed him to the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but doctors declared him dead shortly after. The murder has shaken the community, showing how minor disputes can end in tragedy.

Police arrested both attackers soon after the incident. They now face charges under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which covers the crime of murder. Parking disputes are common in Delhi’s dense neighborhoods, but this case highlights how quickly tempers can escalate into deadly violence.

Asif, who worked in the poultry business, lost his life over a matter of space. His death has devastated his family, including actress Huma Qureshi, who publicly expressed her grief. For the community, it has sparked discussions about conflict resolution, anger management, and the need for stronger neighborhood cooperation.

Moving forward, the tragedy underscores the importance of peaceful dialogue and mutual respect. Families like the Qureshis must now endure the painful process of healing while society reflects on how to prevent such incidents.

The Murder of Huma Qureshi’s Cousin is not just a personal loss but also a reminder of the urgent need for safer, more understanding communities in India’s growing cities.
