2 Members of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Arrested in Delhi Shootout

On August 28, 2025, Delhi Police arrested two members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after an encounter in New Ashok Nagar. The suspects, identified as Kartik Jakhar and Kavish, allegedly opened fire on police officers during the operation. In response, police shot one of the men in the leg before both were taken into custody. The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on gang-related activities in the region.

Authorities revealed that Jakhar and Kavish were working as henchmen for Harry Boxer, a gangster based in the United States who is already facing more than six criminal cases. The connection underlines how the Bishnoi gang’s activities are linked to broader organized crime networks, extending well beyond India’s borders. The gang has a strong presence in Punjab and other states, with ties reaching into multiple countries.

Moreover, this operation follows recent developments in the fight against organized crime. Earlier in August, Jharkhand’s Anti-Terrorism Squad successfully extradited Mayank Singh, also known as Sunil Meena, from Baku, Azerbaijan. The extradition, the first of its kind from Azerbaijan, was hailed as a historic achievement. Singh is believed to be a key link between the Aman Sahu gang and the Bishnoi gang, and investigators hope to gather critical intelligence from him.

Police operations in recent years highlight how gang violence is rarely confined to one state. In May 2024, authorities in Raipur arrested four suspected shooters tied to the Aman Sahu gang, underscoring cross-state collaborations among criminal groups. So, these alliances have fueled violence in Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and beyond.

Law enforcement agencies are increasingly coordinating across jurisdictions and even internationally to dismantle such networks. The extradition of Singh and the capture of Jakhar and Kavish are seen as important steps in pressuring gangs and limiting their ability to operate. Officials emphasize that technology and improved communication channels are helping them track and disrupt gang movements more effectively.

So, community vigilance also plays a vital role in tackling gang activity. Authorities urge residents to remain alert, report suspicious behavior, and participate in awareness programs. Local organizations and schools are being encouraged to educate young people about the risks of gang involvement.

However, the arrest of Jakhar and Kavish sends a strong message that law enforcement is intensifying efforts against gang violence. Their reported ties to Harry Boxer demonstrate the international scope of these criminal networks. As investigations continue, more coordinated operations are expected in the coming months. Police have called on the public to support their efforts by staying informed and engaged in the fight against organized crime.
